Spayed and Neutered

Get Your Cat Spayed, Get Your Cat Neutered

Driving down the road and seeing all the squished animals laying there can get depressing. It is especially depressing if you are a cat lover and see one that has been run over. Most of these are wild. Some may be a persons pet. One of the reasons there are so many that get squished is because of the sheer number of them. This is why you should neuter your cat.

Felines out in the wild breed, and then breed again. This leads to an over population. If a human takes to feeding them, you could end up with over 100 of these felines in your yard. I had an aunt once that though they were so cute. When they got cold, they would all lay in a big pile to keep warm. She would say “isn’t that cute”. That is until there were to many. Having that many also attracted other predators. These things were an easy meal for the local foxes.

Neutering a male cat has some positive effects other than keeping him from breeding.

A neutered male will not take to peeing around the house to mark its territory. Sometimes this operation also takes away the meanness of the male. Cats are in some ways like people. They get sick and they get allergies. A neutered male increases its percentages of not getting leukemia, testicular cancer or having allergies.

The advantages of getting your male neutered are that it will be less likely to contract or develop cancers, Which in turn leads to a healthier animal. The personality will not be mean, but pleasant. This will make you happier and your pet.

So what about getting a female cat spayed?

If you have ever had a non-spayed female cat, you know what the constant meowing sounds like. Every time the feline goes into heat, it cries out for hours. Just like getting a male cat fixed, a female cat will be less likely to get mammary, ovarian or uterine cancer. Again, just like male cats, the female spayed cat will most likely not take to spraying cat urine around the house. Spayed cats have a laid back disposition.

With the over population of cats, both male and female cats should be spayed and neutered. How many times have you gone into a pet store and have seen kittens in a cage they are trying to get rid of. How many times have you taken your pet to the groomer only to see kittens that need a home. Do your part and get your cat spayed or neutered.

When you get your cat spayed or neutered, it will want to hang around inside. But if it wants to go outside, install a few cat doors so it can let itself in and out. You will not have to worry about your pet coming home pregnant since it is fixed. You can find more things to help out with your cat at the online pet supplies store!
